September 2007 to Present
To provide impoverished students better educational opportunities, improving their future employment prospects and helping them escape the cycle of poverty.
The China Opportunity Scholarships (COS) program encourages students to work hard in their studies to become a force for building China's future. USCET's COS program currently supports students at Yunnan University in Kunming, Shandong University, and the Agricultural University of Hebei in Baoding.
Advisory Council Scholarship Fund
Established on December 12, 2014 at Sichuan Normal University, the Advisory Council Scholarship Fund is made possible through the contribution of all fourteen members of the USCET Advisory Council. The four-year scholarships of $750 per year are awarded to five outstanding female students from Sichuan Normal University for a chance to compete with their classmates and gain university degrees. USCET awards recipients based on demonstrated disadvantages in comparison to their peers. Sichuan Normal University and USCET both recognize that gender disparity in educational access is particularly widespread in rural areas and believe that female students from rural areas deserve special attention in the constant pursuit of equality of academic opportunity.
