Remembering Gwen Ifill

The U.S.-China Education Trust is greatly saddened by the passing of Gwen Ifill. Ms. Ifill was truly an icon in American journalism who covered the premier political events in Washington, D.C. that shaped our nation. She was an accomplished print and broadcast journalist, who dedicated her career to searching for truth, to telling in-depth stories, to shedding light on under-reported issues in American society and politics.   

 


Training the Trainers: The Next Generation of Data Journalists in China

USCET conducted China’s first data journalism workshop tailored for teachers this week! This was the first of its kind in China, and the interest and need for such trainings was overwhelming. USCET had received over 90 applications from 61 universities and 5 media organizations. The 5-day intensive workshop prepared journalism professors from across the country to teach this rapidly emerging discipline in China.




USCET Media Luncheon

June 29, 2016

On June 24th, the US-China Education Trust welcomed a delegation of professors and researchers to Freedom Place, residence of Ambassador Julia Chang Bloch. USCET held a media luncheon and a lively discussion with the Honorable Douglas H. Paal on cross-strait relations and how Chinese-language media in the U.S. covers cross-strait relations.
